If this is the case, it wouldn´t be advisable to use a normal monitor if you were a graphic designer. So, is this true? We felt that this information really needed investigation.

Here, we evaluated a monitor´s capacity for precise color scales with almost perfect images, which includes the best definition currently available. We use the professional medical image Smart Quick Viewer software developed by Fenics. This tool is designed for radiologists and cardiologists for mammography readings. We have a data case of very high resolution 8 and 12 bit images. Each image resolution is 3600 x 4200 pixels and weighs about 33 MB.
Tests with patterns created with and without dithering(in Photoshop it´s called simulation or rastering. This is used to simulate non-available colors on 8 bit color systems.

Logically, we should see differences in precise color scales in very high definition images.

What about monitor stabilityIPS, TN, VA, will these three LCD technologies survive? IPS seems to be in the worst position of all three. Too slow a response time, strong afterglow effects with scenes in motion, washed out black compared to VA technology, and high prices… Still, many photographers and graphic designers won´t use anything else.
